How to create purrfect texture finishes and effects.

We have a fantastic range of stencils available here at CoolKatz for
creating lots of different textures for your projects. They can be used
to ink through or by using texture paste, you can create a raised
surface, perfect for adding your paint or other colouring mediums onto.

The Masonry stencil works well with a couple of different shades of
paint over texture paste to give a realistic colour to the bricks.

Here a mixture of PaperArtsy's Butternut and Chocolate Pudding Fresco
Finish paints have been used for a traditional shade of brick.

Don't worry about paint going over onto the grouted area, as a quick cover up
of any splashes can be hidden with a White Gelly Roll pen.

Both the Flag and Stone Wall stencils look great with a wash of a very
dark blue, this creates lots of tones within the colour and gives the
illusion of a very natural stone.

Cadence Napoleon Blue is a great wash over the top of texture paste, then create puddles of the diluted colour and leave to dry.

Again keep that White Gelly Roll Pen to hand for the clean up!

Another great technique that is so easy to create is a sandy beach, which
perfect for our Book Nook Intrigue® By The Seaside. Mix together clear,
light gold and gold embossing powders and sprinkle over the top of our
Bookbinding glue for an instant sandy beach vibe. Not only do you get
a great sandy texture but the subtle mix of colours look so realistic.

You will find lots more great techniques and ideas over on both our
YouTube Channel and Facebook Pages. Please don't forget to share all of
your CoolKatz projects with us in the CoolKatz Facebook Group, all of
