Jenny's fabulous miniature 4 poster bed.

The Four Poster Bed kit immediately made me think of those ones you see advertised for romantic holidays. With some delicate rose bud fabric gifted by a dear friend at hand I set about making the quilt cover first.

Whether you are a quilter or not completing one in 12^th scale is so satisfying as it doesn’t take up much time or space. I die cut the paper templates and fabric using the Hexagon Die Set – so much faster than hand cutting!

I would recommend using a fabric glue pen to attach the fabric hexagons to the smaller paper templates. Again, this is much faster than hand basting.

Sadly, there wasn’t much of the rose bud fabric left but by mixing in some cream and white solids it was enough to complete the quilt.

When complete this quit was backed with some thicker fabric and bound together at the edges with a sewing machine to prevent fraying.

Use some thin foam on the bed baseplate and cover it all in coordinating fabric to make the bed look more sumptuous. I used toy stuffing to fill tiny pillowcases too.

You can colour the bed frame with paint or pens, and I attached some brass box corners to the top of each post as an added decoration.

To enhance the romantic look, use lace (in this case from the bottom of old net curtains) wired sheer ribbon and a string of pearl beads, wrapping them around the top of the frame and securing with glue.

Add a box of chocolate truffles (using the round box die) a bunch of matching miniature roses and a small gift to finish the romantic look. The miniature suitcases are also perfectly sized to complete the scene.
