Elizabeth's Four Poster Bed

Elizabeth's Four Poster Bed

I hold my hands up to hoarding fabric, yes I confess I am a fabric (as
well as paper) hoarder!

A few years ago Hobbycraft did a collaboration with Joules and brought
out a gorgeous collection of fabrics, I've ooo'd coo'd and finally cut
into them, hurray!

After putting together the bed frame, I gave it a gentle sand and brush
down before adding a coat of Gesso.

I used Cadence Ocean Blue Hybrid Acrylic Paint to give the bed a
costal/contemporary feel. It had two coats of paint with a thorough dry
and light sanding in between. I did the same also to the Bedside Tables.

I created a pair of pillows and a duvet using the checked Joules fabric.
I found a piece with both Dogs and Houses scattered over it, so choosing
the placement I cut out one of each to make cushions for the bed.

There's a towel created from a new microfibre cleaning cloth and also a
cute miniature plastic Duck, so you are bath time ready!

On the Bedside Tables you will find cookies, cups of tea, newspapers and
a crystal candle holder.  On the bottom shelves of the Tables are
decorative plates to hold jewellery or trinkets etc.

Decorating the bed and tables was so much fun and you could create
bedding for all seasons, think Spring, Summer, Halloween and Christmas
to name a few.

What style would you choose?

Happy Crafting.
