When I saw the new CATalogue Box I was so excited by the number of
different ways it can be used. I love to slow stitch and so one half of
my box is being used to hold threads and fibres for a project I'm
working on at the moment and the other half of the box is just purrfect
for storing my precious miniatures die sets.
Now I've already decorated by CATalogue Box with a coat of white gesso and
a fabulous nautical napkin decoupaged onto the outside. I popped the
magnet into the back of the box and my Index and reinforcer dies are
safely stored on it.
I've used the Large Victorian Flip Flap Die Set to create the base of my
index pages. These are cut from 300gsm white card to form a sturdy base.
I lined up the larger of the two dies with the index die, using the very
clever alignment system design to make things easier for us crafters, of
course everything is held in place with Tiger Tape so nothing moves
during the cutting process. This die only cuts on three sides so will
need to be trimmed down.
I've cut half a dozen pages to get me started along with matching
reinforcers.
I used sticky backed magnetic sheet which is crafters quality and
therefore thin enough to be die cut using the smaller die from the set.
Again I've used the index die to add the holes to the bottom of the die
cut.
I found it easier to pop the holes out of the magnetic sheet and then
line them up on the base card, making sure the holes line up and the
borders around the edge are straight.
This will leave a small overlap of the magnetic sheet which if you flip
over you can see to trim it down to match the white card.
Flip back over to the front and adhere the reinforcers to the front of
the index holes.
Once dry you are ready to start cataloging your miniature die
collection. You can write all of the details on the back of the card and
how many dies are in each collection.
This may to me a while but at least I've made a start......................
So if you've been inspired by Elizabeth to catalogue your miniature die
collection you can find all of the links you need below including those
to our social media accounts.
