CKC CATalogue Christmas Boxes – You just have to believe in the Magic.

Well, a box is not just for Christmas but this little gem of an idea helps keep you organised in the lead up to the big day. My inspiration came from the shape of the stacking boxes which reminded me of a sleigh and although I didn’t do it this time around, I think the addition of a couple of silver painted card runners would look great. (Ok, so if we are being honest, my inspiration also came from the need to be more organised myself!)

As ever, I did a dry run of the kit first to ensure each half of the completed CATalogue box is correctly aligned. Before assembly, I drew around the pieces onto the back of the papers I had chosen as this made it easier later to cut the perfect shapes as required.

I made up the box in accordance with the instructions. I painted the rails before I put them in place and while they were drying I painted the inside of both boxes the same colour. I then added the rails and put the holders in site before painting them as they are a snug fit.

I covered the outside of the boxes, including the base/tops, in my chosen papers and spent far too much time checking my stash for complimenting papers to use for the dividers in the organiser side of the box. These were made using the CKC Mexican tag flap dies and thanks again to the CKC ladies for thinking of everything – by folding a piece of A5 card in half, the tag flaps fit perfectly. Cutting carefully left me with an “excess” on the top which, when turned 180 degrees, made perfect pockets for the finished tags. As with the other CKC tag die sets, there is a slightly smaller tag which allows for the precise cutting of patterned paper to get a purrfect end result. I cut the holes and reinforcers as directed and again, thinking of everything, CKC include a magnetic strip to discreetly add into the box so that at future stage, any additions, whether tags or pages, can be easily cut and added in.

I made my title pieces and added them to the top of the tags (after a while of debating whether I could justifiably make the food and drink category first!) I cut plain and lined paper to size (in this case 4 x 4 inch) and again die cut the holes and reinforcers. I placed these between the finished tags and then put them all into position. However the joy of this style of organiser is that the pages and tag sections can be moved at any time to suit your need. I have to say it was very satisfying flicking through the sections and believing that I could have a stress free build up to Christmas. Now that would be magic!!!

Now isn't that a wonderful way to keep organised for the festive season and of course it can be used year after year.

If you have been inspired by Carol to get organised with our CATalogue Box then please don't forget to share your project with us in the CoolKatz Craft Facebook Group. We have a wonderful community of like minded crafters that love to see all the CoolKatz projects that have been created.

Happy Crafting
