This weekend you got a taster of the new Inky Wizz on Hochanda and then at Stamparama where Maggie and Kay took some of their samples to show you. The response has been fantastic!
Here is the first of our Design Team's decorated Inky Wizz made by Michaela.
Michaela assembled the Inky Wizz, dotted glue where necessary and then primed it with a spray primer (she used PlastiKote), then she painted it with a spray acrylic paint. She decorated it with steam punk cogs, wings, made a chain frame and put it on top where you can see the tops of the vertical slats. She added another frame around that, also with cogs and a chain motif. Michaela used Mod Podge to glue the embellishments in place and when that was dry she sealed it all with a spray sealant (PlastiKote again).
She finds it extremely useful, it has liberated an entire drawer of ink pads so now she can use the drawer for something else.
Aswell as going to Stamperama in Stevenage on Sunday 24th February for their first show, Maggie and Kay will also be on Hochanda separately on the Saturday.
Maggie will be selling Wild Rose Studios papers, dies and stamps for Oakland Archer in their Sale show but will also be selling the CoolKatzCraft NEW Album Kits and maybe something else new? She has got one show at 8am, with a possible second show later on.
Kay is going to be selling Mixed Media for a new company to Hochanda - Craftex. She will be demonstrating how Bubbalux - Ultimate Craft Board can be used! It is a fabulous material with loads of crafting uses! She will be on at 3pm and would like you to watch to see whether any of the products would suit you. She is on at 3pm on Saturday
I know that we mentioned this on Facebook yesterday but for those who do not have Facebook and only have the Blog here is an event coming up soon.
Aswell as numerous TV appearances on Hochanda featuring Kay and Maggie, they are currently preparing for their first show at Stamperama on the 24th February 2019 in Stevenage.
CoolKatzCraft will be at Stamperama which is supported by Hochanda and is at the Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre on Lytton Way in Stevenage, post code is SG1 1LZ. It is open from 10-4pm, tickets cost £2.50 in advance and £3 on the door.
Please if you are coming, call in on Kay and Maggie at the CoolKatzCraft stand where you will be able to see all of their laser cut grey board kits and album kits with finished samples and other goodies too! Many will be at special show prices just for the day of the show.
Hopefully there will be the Reveal of a brand new concept! - The Design Team have been working hard to bring you so...
On a Saturday in January 2019, I attended Kay's class on the "Spring Plaque".
I was very impressed and decided to purchase a second kit which I completed this week.
I painted all the items with white Gesso and then covered with a yellow and green Pebeo paint.
The background "Bugs" Mask/Stencil is by Creative Expressions. Using a Large Grain Gel, mixing the gel with Pebeo translucent brown with a little white for definition. Having left the bugs to dry overnight I was surprised and delighted that they had turned from a dirty sludgy colour to a bright shiny dark brown.
I used, from my craft stash, Creative Expression's Sue Wilson die "Fern Fronds", a set of 2 dies code CED1518 and also Tim Holtz's Sizzix Thinlets dies, set of 4 code 658759 but prefer the fern fronds. Having finished the ring I decided that, for a bit of fun, to glue in small Googly eyes as bugs and beetles who love over wintering and hiding away.
The plaque is being supported with Tim Holtz Alterations Small Ea...
